City of Tampere, Hiedanranta – a circular neighbourhood: We’ve been working with the City of Tampere for over two years starting from concept development to evaluating the master plan from the circular economy perspective.

Business Tampere – Tampere Region Circular Development: Ethica has collaborated with Business Tampere through their 6Aika Strategy on urban development. Ethica’s project consisted of two parts: 1) Developing circular potential in Eco3 area, Taraste industrial park and Hiedanranta and giving one-to-one consultation to businesses wanting to locate in the area 2) developing circular construction principles in Hiedanranta.

Technology Industries of Finland – Circular growth platform: We’ve designed and facilitated a workshop series to member companies of Technology Industries of Finland. The workshops focused on circular ecosystems, circular design and circular business development.

Ethica built a roadmap through which the company can develop new service and product concepts and bring the circular economy principles in the heart of their strategy.

Smart&Clean Foundation – Urban Food: The objective of the project was to identify novel, low carbon and scalable initiatives which could form an internationally renowned, circular urban food ecosystem in the greater Helsinki area. Ethica engaged with a large number of different stakeholders to map out the actors and most promising operational models for future development.
Design Forum Finland – EcoDesign Sprint: Ethica collaborated with Design Forum Finland to develop the EcoDesign Sprint for SMEs and design agencies as part of the EcoDesign Circle project. Ecodesign Sprint is a three-day holistic training and acceleration programme based on circular economy thinking. It is an intensive and strategic programme focusing on identifying new circular business opportunities, and with the expertise of the design agency it results in novel product/service concepts for the SME. Prime Minister’s Office – Rapid Circular Experiments: Ethica was the selected partner for The Prime Minister’s Office to facilitate the Rapid Circular Experiment project and provide hands-on support to SMEs, associations and private individuals conducting their experiment projects.
European Insitute for Innovation & Technology (EIT) – Circular Economy Think Tank: Ethica’s role in the EIT Raw Materials project was to develop a methodology through which novel circular solutions can be developed into viable business models and ecosystems. The methodology was successfully tested with two cases: AMS Institute in their PUMA (urban mining) case and HSY Helsinki Region Environmental Services Authority for bottom ash & ash high value solutions.
Relooping Fashion: Together with VTT – Technical Research Centre of Finland Ethica led a two-year development project to pilot a closed loop textile ecosystem. Ethica focused on modelling the future textile ecosystem as well as research on consumer interface and developing a circular narrative.
